Sometimes, when people to go to check out, Paypal gives a message stating that the invoice has already been paid. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. Clearing cookies and cache does nothing.

Using the most recent versions of Shopp and WP with Paypal Standard.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi everybody,

In Shopp settings > presentation, I have set 3 products per row.

That's why when I use this code :

PHP:

<?php shopp('catalog','related-products','show=6'); ?>

It returns two rows of 3 products (two <li class="row">).

How can I do to have one row with 5 products without to change the shopp settings admin ?

Does I have to use related.php ?

Kind regards,

I have a couple free download products that I would like to make much easier for users to download. Here are the things I would like to change:

1) Currently it says the price is "$0.00" instead of "Free".
2) In order to download the free product they still have to go through the regular checkout process. Is there a way to have them click a download (instead of Add to Cart) and get the file right away?

Thanks!

I've got a weird problem (or it seems that way to me, at least). Here's what's happening: I installed Shopp without any problems. I was able to edit settings/preferences and add a discount code. Other than that, I can't add anything.

When I try to add a product or category, I get a blank page after submitting the product/category. When I go to the add product page, the add image and add product detail buttons don't respond to clicks at all. I can't add categories or tags from that page either.

Shopp is installed in my account at Dreamhost. Everything there checks out as supported via the requirements plug in. I'm running WordPress 2.9.1. I have a bunch of plug ins running, but disabled all except Shopp and still experienced this problem. If it matters, I'm using Safari 4.0.4 on Mac OS X 10.6.2.

Any ideas as to what's happening?

Thanks,

Hello all,

Hopefully I haven't overlooked this being answered elsewhere...

I would like to have certain shopp widgets (the sidebar shopping cart, for example) display only while in the shopp pages - basically, from catalog.php on.

However, I can only figure out how to add widgets via the widget interface, and this adds them all over my theme.

How can I add selectively add widgets into Shopp, but keep my Home and Blog pages uncluttered?

I need to be able to direct the customer to a specific URL "Thank You Page" after successful payment of "Product A". How can that be accomplished?

I do not need it on every product... just one!

Here's a little background info. I use Wishlist Member (a plugin to manage membership content on the website). I have been using 1ShoppingCart to integrate, but can easily make Shopp work if the above request is possible. By directing them to a specific URL after payment of their membership fee, they are walked through the process of creating a user name and password for accessing the "members only" content.

Hi everyone,

I want to pull the image url for any product without containing the HTML(i.e no <img /> tag).

I have seen a previous post which suggets of using $Shopp->Product->images which is a class.

I have used the print_r command and have looked the class and it contains all the properties needed, however I have not been able to traverse through the object.

Although I am a web developer my object skills in php are lacking, so I was wandering if you can give us a snippet of code that can traverse through the object and extract a property like the image source for a thumbnail.

Many Thanks

Shopp NEEDS to be able to designate shipping by at minimum by Country level. Every shopping cart should be able to specify "Free shipping on all U.S. Orders" while everybody else pays normal rate. I currently see no way to do this simple task. It seems like a very core basic thing that is lacking! Ideally, being able to designate by city or zip code would be best, but by Country at least should be a given. IMO this should be a top priority for the next release along with fixing that paypal pro discount rounding error

I'm trying to make a page where all the category thumbnails show up with their naam and title.

One of the things I've noticed with my conversions is that they were MUCH higher when I was using the WP Ecommerce plugin. However, that plugin was too glitchy which led me to find the Shopp plugin.

Although I love how fluid the process is, i'm noticing a higher abandonment rate in the checkout process. It would help if we could customize what fields are required/shown.

In my opinion, there are too many confirmations involved using the Shopp checkout process (I use Paypal Standard). The customer should Add Items--->Checkout---->Enter their billing/shipping information---->Then enter credit card info

Removal of the "Confirm Order" step would speed up the process. Some of you may think this is trivial, but I know from experience that the quickest way to convert online, is to make it as fast as possible.

Another note: Replacing the "checkout with paypal" button with a more generic "checkout" button would also be helpful. There are still many people that assume you have to be registered with Paypal in order to pay with them. They would see that's not true if they were to make it to the Paypal screen that had their data passed through, but most will never get to that step due to their fear of having to sign up for a Paypal account.

Just my thoughts

Thanks

Hi,
I searched the forums and did not see any requests/information on this. My client is interested in a "view all" option - possible next to the two view options in the top right corner to display all products in a category on one long page. Some categories have a lot of products and customers are frustrated having to click and reload the page each time.
Thanks!

Yesterday I've posted a new article on my blog about how to use jQuery to create a folding menu for Shopp categories and sub-categories:
http://www.cla-ude.net/blog/index.php?id=8806210894263222728
I hope you will find this usefull (if you're using sub-categories of course).

If I can find a few minutes, I will publish a new articles in a few days (how to display stock quantities even for variations).

How can I have several images on my site home page, and also have featured products smart category listing a few featured products.

If I add my images to the catalog.php or the page, it shows up throughout the catalog.

What I have done to get around this was to create a new page, actually, I created a page template, added my image collage code there and then in WP, I created a new page, selected that as the template and then added the short code for featured products. This works fine, but when you click into a category or product, if you click on the "home" in the breadcrumbs, it takes you to the SHOP home, not the SITE home.

Is there a better way to do this? How can I have custom content on the home page only, but not the other pages?

First time user of Shopp and I say I've been impressed with its functionality and integration with WordPress.

Having a bit of trouble getting the product image uploading to work smoothly.

Uploaded product photos, but when clicking on the thumbnail, the larger version looks like it is only partially captured.

See this screenshot: http://skitch.com/eugevon/n3x72/san-francisco-neighborhood-series-shop-august-table

What are the pros and cons of using db vs. file system storage? Is file system more robust?

And are these images completely separate from WordPress media library?

Any tips on resolving the product image uploading would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

I have a feeling this is super simple and I just glossed over it, but is there a way to force catalog.pho to display in label view without the toggle grid/label.

I looked at the catalog/views switch, but that seems to turn on whether or not the option for different views is there and the default seems to be grid view.

Thanks for any feedback and suggestions.

Hello everyone, i just installed shop but i need to create a custom payment gateway based upon a payment provider i use here in the Netherlands, when looking around through the site, I couldn't find any documentation on creating my own payment modules. Ofcourse the payment provider has a whole API available to do this.

Is there any documentation on creating my own gateways, or will i be able to distill all information needed out of the existing gateways?

I'll be putting together a site for our local Kansas City investment group, and we're migrating to WordPress. We'll have an online store for courses, events (please get the event registration going! ) and other items. So I think Shopp would work wonderfully - it has on the other sites I've done.

However, we also need membership capability, so we're looking to most likely go with the WishList member plugin.

Has anyone done an integration with Shopp and a membership plugin? It seems that membership and ecommerce plugins are unfortunately exclusive...

I want the first page of our shop to display the names and descriptions of all the categories. I've found this code in the documentation

<?php while(shopp('catalog','categories')) { … } ?>

To which I added this:

 <?php endwhile; ?>

But I keep getting an error message for the first line.

What am I missing?

Jon,

Not sure if you have already gone over this topic yet. I have had several clients in the past few days inquire about monthly membership purchasing options. Since I mostly design using wordpress as a standalone cms I could really use this functionality. Is there a way to set it where each product could stand for a membership length which after purchase would change their user role status (integrating with the wordpress user roles plugin)? Or so that I could offer monthly subscriptions to be rebilled automatically? Thanks.

I posted this in a thread that was marked resolved but had no replies as to how to resolve it, and am still having issues. I bought the UPS and USPS shipping modules. The UPS one is fine, but the USPS - despite the php file being put into the plugins folder - still isn't appearing in the shipping options in Wordpress. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Is there some way to configure things so i can stick with virtual merchant?

If not, can someone recommend another wordpress plugin that works with virtual merchant? My searches turn up nothing.

Firstly, congratulations on 1.0.7 ... Shopp is turning into a very nice product.

I have just launched a site with PayPal standard, everything is working fine from a payment point of view, however, the orders are not going into the Wordpress admin. This is the case for orders that are completed in PayPal and orders that are not. I have also tried a default theme and again the orders do not show in the Wordpress admin.

At what stage should the orders appear for PayPal Standard?

I would like to redirect only shop pages to https and am having some trouble figuring out how to do it without redirecting everything.

It is mostly due to other plugins having hard coded http links, but the amount of changes that would be required to alter the plugins make it a terribly impractical idea.

I am currently using this code in the htaccess file:

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} !=on
RewriteRule .* https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]

It fixes the problem of mixed content errors, but makes the whole site (including admin) https. If I redirect only certain pages, then internal links are not changed.

Does anybody know a way to make checkout pages secure with no mixed content errors without rewriting all offending plugins?

Thanks.
